special education in adelaide

we are looking at migrating to adelaide my son has autism i am trying to identify special schools in this area.

Any feedback would be useful to us and appreciated

Hi Maria,

They seem to use a combination of integration and special units. Obviously it depends on the form your son's autism takes, his age etc but perhaps this list of special schools will help. Even with the little I know, I can see that this is neither exhaustive or fully up to date, but perhaps it'll do as a starting point and at least you can visit their websites. IMHO provision here seems pretty good. Let me know if I can help.

hi...
I've just come back from Perth and l am fortunate enough to have family out there who are linked to teaching....anyway to cut a long story short...... l was looking into special needs as l am a senco here in the uk....... l did find out that children that are special needs here do not automatically get to transfer their paper work to aussie schools and will have to go through an assessment to see what level of special needs they are in aussie terms as the aussies use the same principles as america apparently, so their special needs criteria are different to ours... hope this is of some help and maybe contacting aussie education for WA directly will be of benefit...
