Hi chris

my mother has been really ill in hospital and we thought that she was dying and the last 48 hours have been dreadful, but by some minor miracle she has come round quite a bit today. I have come on to PIO today and saw your new thread about More good news from the uk' and i thought, what are we having aggro over?

We are talking about two of the best countries to live in, in the world, me i think Australia is the best and i don't live there and you think the uk is the best and you don't live there either. But other members on PIO must be sick to the back teeth over me and you trying to out score each other over which country is the best.

I am not making excuses over why i started the stupid campaign, but it was to counter the negative rubbish that Earlswood, Lifeinmono and others, but then you came along and along with Connie for awhile and you just kept going on and on and i got fed up with it and carried on my campaign to counter the negative stuff about Australia, but.............. i would like it to end and i am offering a peace pact, so to speak.

If theres anything i have taken from my mothers illness, its that, i just want to come on PIO, have a laugh and try to help people. It will be solely down to you how this moves on from here, but i will not post any negative stuff about the uk for one month to start with and hopefully in that month, you can also eliminate the negative posts about Australia and do away with them all together.

I know there will be others who come out with rubbish about both countries and i do not know how either of us should react to it, but i am hoping we can draw a line under our stupid fued, because quite frankly its wasted energy.

The uk is a great country and so is Australia and neither of us can disagree with that.

Its like an epiphany mate isnt it?! same thing happened to me this yr.PIO is great,,but arguing with no marks yer dont know is dead pointless,just a shame that real life events have to happen to make it dawn on us,but as long as it does dawn.............ACES

If theres one thing that shines through with chris, is that he's a family man who wants whats best for his family and he is no different to the rest of us and we all to a certain extent try to justify our reasons for THE BIG move wether it is to Australia, or the uk. But arn't we really lucky that we have these two choices?

Good on you.Sorry to hear your mother has been unwell and we will be thinking of you all and wishing for her continued recovery.An event like that really highlights the important things in life and reading your post it seems to have shaken you quite a bit.Remember,take care of your mother but do not forget to take care of yourself too, we often forget when we are so worried about others close to us.

Hi ya Jim.

I know you and Chris have had your ups and downs. But when something terrible happens in your personal life it all kind of pales into insignificance really Jim, well I reckon anyway. Hopefully the hand of compromise that has been offered will be met in the same manner.

Hey Hoff i hope your mum is still doing well and carries on to do so. It's nice when people who most probably have never met can stand up and say sorry lets just move on. As for who is right about the UK and australia like you both probably know both have downsides and both have upsides as long as you have your health who cares at the end of the day.
