Do Aussies take themselves too seriously?
One of the endering things about the English is their ability to laugh at themselves, the Irish too have this trait, even the jocks and welsh (to a lesser extent
) have it.
I didn't see much of it in the Aussies. Do they?
also the waussies seem to have lost this ability, is it part of the transition into a true blue aussie?

I think you take us too seriously...you pay us far more attention than we warrant...whenever I'm feeling insignificant down here it always heartens me to know there is a busy beaver in Spain beavering away researching my country and its problems ...

After that World Cup performance it wasn't just the English laughing at themselves. The whole world joined in.

It's like the little boy in Primary School who keeps picking on the little girl. On the surface it may seem like bullying.............. but really it's driven by affection.

Hi Aldo
i didn't see any of this all the ones i met were easy going and laughing alot more than us lot in the freezing miserable uk, with the country almost bankrupt and unemployment double what it is in Australia.
No they seemed really happy and jokey, well they would be like that living in the best country in the world. Australia, lucky sods with all that brilliant weather and the warm sea to swim in and the fabulous beaches, they ALL looked well and the ALL seemed happy. How the other half live.

I understood what you were saying, but because we speak in dialect, and read and write proper as they'd say. I was a little thrown a little. If you spoke to me I'd be fine, but because it's unusual to see dialect written it's like throwing a curve ball. Check out Irvine welsh books to see what I mean.
