Why is it us Brits "ups sorry" British are to just except pom and not be affended, which most don't care, but how dare we call an aboriginal abbo that's offensive, unless like I said it's used in a offensive manner.

I'd agree with that. The others don't mean anything much, mostly just abbreviations. One of my nicknames is on that list that I was given in the late 80's and it's stuck to this day with all my friends back in the UK. See if you can guess which one it is.

I have just recieved an infraction for "missquoting" and had the offending quote removed

Wasn't the 1st quote to you miss quoted? pom, brit or abbo? abbo changed to aldo then you changed it back to abbo???? Is that the one?
Strange if it is because that means you got an infraction for miss quoting yourself now that is funny (sorry)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I've been living away from my native Australia for 17 yrs, but I explain to Brits here that Aussies shorten EVERYTHING! Even the MCG, already short for Melbourne Cricket Ground, is shortened *again* the "The M"! So it's not meant as offensive when Aussies shorten Lebanese to "Lebbo" or Italian to "I-ti" etc etc - we're just lazy! Would people say this is for the most part true?

I dont think any of it it derogatory,what makes it derogatory is the manner in which a person says it.That makes a world of a difference.It can be used jokingly,affectionately or with contempt.
