Laptop or Netbook

Help please. I need to get either of the above. Basically to take with us when we go to Oz in May so that we can keep in touch with the children via MSN or email, down load pics and send them home. A bit of surfing and basically thats it. But is it worth getting a laptop so my daughter can use it for school stuff after. If you have either that you are happy with could you please recommend????? :spinny:

hi there, can i jump on your thread please , were taking a laptop all we have, my question is do i take it as hand luggage or ship it? need it sooner than later but is it a hassle carrying around / THANX WHAT WILL YOU DO?

samsung NC10 is a great little netbook small compact and windows xp pre-loaded too,160 GB hard drive
it doesnt have a cd rom drive, but has enough usb ports so i use a flash drive to upload new hardware ,music and files onto the hard drive
pay no more than 320.00
you can buy a laptop for the same price although a much larger machine it has the added bonus of the bigger keyboard and cd drive......both do exactly the same job!!!!!!

hand luggage definately,but you have got to put it through security xray machine seperately so dont pack it in too tightly with all your other worldly goods!! they love nothing better than a good rummage!!!

thanks guys , i can't live without mine either lol, just wondered ill have to chandge the plugs etc before we use thought it it would be easier to leave it, daft question time ,, 3 weeks to go!

Ah ours is a trip unfortunately not permanently and will take in hand luggage to use on plane!!!!

I brought a laptop i would recommend getting a webcam in the top built in as Skype has been a godsend for us keeping in touch with family back home. it is nice to see the person you are talking with, and its free. And hand luggage.
