Us too, me 41 OH 45 kids 12, 10 & 7. we also went down to 115 points in the change over last Aug. we finally got application sent in March and OH was 45 in July. It was a case of now or never.

Us to, David 45 in january , Im 38 and our 2 ( delightful boys ....not ) !!!! 14 and 11....We have been on about doing it for years but timing was never right ........it isnt now either but, thats how it goes ..........Bring it on............OZ here we come !!!!!!!
We are both retired now and are self funded. We were fortunate that when we came here my husband had good super and we get some English pension as well. Inflation is our enemy.
However my mum lives on the aged pension and she will be ninety next year and rents in the private market, she has some funds as she sold her property and she gets rent assistance and she manages but she comes from an era where expenses were minimised.
We do not need her money so she is ok she can live quite well and does not go without.
However we are different we have computers, the internet, mobile phones etc etc so we need more money in retirement.
Just as a matter of interest, who has made the decision to move to Oz coming up to or just past 40 years of age.
I want to see have many people are like me have reached that age and felt things needed to change.
Husband is 41, I'm 37 boys 10 and 8.
We have been here for 9 months now in Melbourne. Still not sure if we have made the right decision but it is better than the UK at the moment with the enconomy I think.
We decided on the move just 3 month before OH was 40. It was all a mad rush then to get the application in before his birthday!!! We actually managed to get it done 6 weeks before his 40th.
I should have added I am just a pup at 35 lol
Definitely feel 40 with the kids though. Danielle, nearly 3 (going on 13), Oliver, will be 1 next week.
