Well we moved here 4 years ago, and in our loft is football table and drums for the boys sooo all ok there BUT in our garage is another story, we have boxes we havent opened since we moved here and we are going to clear the garage this weekend, I am really not looking forward to it !! Ile let you know what I find LOL
Imagine the Sale Room at an auction house, but not in any sort of order, only then can you get some kind of idea what our loft might be like. Access is easy, you simply walk up a spiral staircase into my "office" room and then you can open a door which leads to the attic room.........and that's it, you can't get any further. I'ts possible to switch the light on and gaze at the contents, but as for actually knowing what might be there..........impossible ! We have 28 years of living in this house and 38 years of marriage, so you can imagine there is likely to be everything from children's toys to clothes that are so out of fashion, that they may well come back into fashion fairly soon. Then there is sure to be stereo systems and records galore ( I know for a fact that there will be over 500 albums and in excess of 1000 singles/45's). Somewhere in the deepest recesses there is a large trunk, which belonged to my sister who emigrated to Australia 30 years ago, but has never been seen since and the contents are completely unknown.
Oh how we look forward to clearing all this, and more, when the day comes for us to make the move to Oz ourselves.
"What's In Your Loft", you ask..........I could write a book on it..........maybe I just have.
well I dont know if this counts as it was my mums loft not mine, She lived there for 5 years
one of those tables that has a wee person holding it up
3 knitting machines
3 duvets and countless pillows for cushions
country and western outfits
bed sheets from the local hospital that had been shut down for longer than she had lived there
2 christmas trees
rolls and rolls of xmas paper and boxes and boxes of xmas cards
about 20 pairs of jeans most never worn as too long - she had only turned them up with pins and then thought bugger that
40 or so video tapes - not even bought ones - 40 full or rubbish
a suitcase with cards that had been given to her over the year (50 odd years)
Her wedding suit
and oh a squirrel - not a hundred percent certain though. There was a wee window in the roof and after me and my brother had finished emptying the loft we were putting the stuff for the dump into the van and turned around just in time to see a squirrel run across the grass and climb up a tree.
My mums standing word when any of us visited, do you think you could go up to the loft. I think she thought it was an extension of her wardrobe

Hi
I dont know exactly what is in our loft as I'm not brave enough to go up there. However, when we left our last house a year ago, my OH told me not to worry cause there wasn't much in the loft. Then he started getting it down. I made 5 trips to the tip with the back 5 seats removed from my 7 seater people carrier removed. The back of the car was full each time. He left the loft until the day we moved out. I have my wedding dress, shoes, hairpiece etc, loads of records, cd's, dvd',s wallpaper (why do we keep half rolls of wall paper, even when we don't live in the house it was used in?), strips of laminate, and a load of insulation which a mouse shredded. The mouse no longer lives up there LOL.
our loft is full of old kettles, toasters hoovers etc which we kept just incase we or family/friends needed spares after we bought all new- dont ask lol. Funnily enough we never have used them we always go out and buy new when the others break and end up sticking them in the loft for spares lol. oh and we also got old books and toys from the kids from when they were younger and of course the xmas bits and pieces.
Hi,
we too have vinyl records lots and lots of them some are my dad's 45's from the 60's, but mainly stuff from the 80's - why we have kept them I have no idea we haven't had a record player for years!
*stuff the kids made at school and playschool
*christmas - lots of it in various states of sparkliness
*a large tent and associated paraphanalia
*suitcases and bags- where do they all come from? Some are definately not mine!
and
*lots of bits that are there just in case they might come in handy one day!
Kat
