I don't log on when I have guests over though - honest
Snap! I do a bit of this then come back on then I do a bit of that and then come back on. I have negotiated the summer off to be with the children who are both out playing and have been all day! Its raining and yes I am bored and my life does feel a bit in limbo at the moment what with the house going on the market and all the stress of the TRA. This is my release valve because my OH wan't talk about it as he will not beleive its happening 'till we are on the plane!

So us Saddo's must stick together and all hale those without a proper life!!!!!!!

Ive mentioned this before..........I think there is a click on here and im not mentioning any names......... some moderators also tend to be a bit biased towards the click.......maybe we sould have a vote on who thinks theres a click on PIO and then if the majority thinks there is a click have another poll to see if we should all name who we think is in the click and then those with the most votes of who is in the click need to click the chickens of the ones that wernt mentioned so that they can be as popular as the click...........just a thought. great post by the way but unfortunately this site is some peoples life and they really dont have anything else.....shame......im off now to vote with my wife and kids on who is the most popular in the house and then im gonna vote to keep Darnel in the BB house.

Well today when reading Geoffrey’s thread about ‘newbies’ posting when they haven’t been around long enough to understand the status quo, I was thinking to myself that if I really wanted to be ‘in the loop’ then I was going to have to put some serious hours in on PIO before I too was ‘worthy’ of an opinion.

That’s when I hit upon my problem. My problem is that I struggle to keep up with the latest state of affairs on PIO because I have something a little more preoccupying called ‘a life’. And I thought I would just give you guys a little reminder that out there, beyond your computer screen is a whole world that needs exploring.

It strikes me that some of the people who have self reigned themselves ‘king of the forum’ for being grumpy and miserable with nothing positive to say about anything, perhaps need to get out there and start reminding themselves that there is in fact a real world out there, full of ‘real’ people.

I will put my hands up and say I too am guilty! I also get mesmerized by my computer screen to the point where I have to surgically peel my arse off my seat to go and take the dog for a walk, or meet up with friends, or eat dinner with my family. But I know that when I do I’m much happier, and feel much more fulfilled.

This is a great forum and has already proved a great support to me in a time of need, and I expect it will again. I even hope I will meet some of you in real life one day. Whenever I need help with anything Oz related I know I can find it here, and so will many many others.

But next time your reading a post that makes you angry or upset, take a step back from your computer, turn around and look out the window and ask yourself if there is something more fulfilling you could be doing with your time. And next time a newbie, or someone who doesn’t post very often makes a naïve post, take a deep breath before you post your sarcastic demoralizing answer and remember that that person has probably been out enjoying the fresh air whilst you’ve been waging your cyberspace popularity campaign.

That is all.
Classic and spot on.

Darren

Hi Megs

Maybe it was was put the wrong way, My point is Certin people who are new to this site only seem to post negative posts regarding Australia and link themselves to Earlswood and Aldo. Both members (not me) have been on this site for a while both post good and bad.
What annoys me is when people ONLY say bad things about Australia, Australia is not all bad yes it has bad points and its not for everyone etc, etc, etc.
Members who have been around for a while understand the banter of these 2 and most either ignore or play along. Newer members seem to get sucked in by them and thats when the you know what hits the fan!!! I've been there I hold up my hand.

As for clicks it happens at school and goes on throughout life, some people are in some are out.

Its funny that your post has a go at me but others feel the need to come on and explain why they are on PIO so much, so to me that means that people have felt you have had a go at them!!! So are you judgemental on others as you say i am???

People who feel bad for being on this site why? not everyone works not everyone has a full social calander everyone is different without people spending alot of time on this site would this site be as good???

Geoffrey

rebeccae is on a distinguished road
Megss I'm a "newbie" and I couldn't agree more. I have a full time job (and then some) and simply don't have the time to be on here constantly. A little bit of perspective, this is a very useful and informative site with some very helpful people. To my knowledge you don't and shouldn't have to be "experienced" (whatever that means) to use it??
