health insurance

hi all and g'day.
i arrived in oz on good friday as a citizen by decent [my mother was born here].

i was wondering whether or not to take out private health insurance and if i was to ,which company,perhaps some of you out there have done a bit of research in this matter that you'd be willing to share ?

for the record i'm 58 yrs old

Best resource is to do a check with Private Health Insurance Australia - iSelect Everyone has their favourites (or perhaps their least evil preferences!) and there is a huge range of options. Iselect will help you pinpoint where your best option will be for the cover that you want. We are the same age as you and have been with HCF for years, they have been OK but we are getting to the stage of wondering whether we should just salt the $240 a month into a separate account and hope like hell that we dont need the private cover.
