Apart from 2 lots of Maternity Leave - for the past 26 years I've worked full time. Our new lifestyle has made me reconsider work and I've decided to reduce my hours to 4 days a week. (to start from May 5th). I'm not sure how it'll work out financially yet so doing a 3 month trial with the option of going back full time if I want to. It feels like a bit of a novelty at the moment, but I've got so many job to catch up on.

Ali you will love it ,it didnt take me long to realise how good it feels to be there for the kids and not running around like an idiot every night catching up on jobs,,money isnt everything,thats one thing most aussies have right ,im sure youll find a way to scrape by!lol

You will probably find that you so enjoy your day off that you resent the days when you do have to go in to work. When I quit work last year, I was all prepared for a life of leisure but I got offered a 15 hour a week job. Whilst the hours are great, I do find that there are days when I am so busy with other stuff that I really dont want to spend time going in to work! Fortunately I have flexibility so I can do pretty much what I like.
Oh Ali, remember the jobs have been there ages - they will wait while you settle into being a "lady wot lunches!!" Take a couple of weeks in the new routine just for you!!! You deserve it!
