Dom I'll be the first to agree that there needs to be a Yin and Yan and have no problem with a lot of topics discussed and I'm sure you are all aware of that. What I don't like is when someone starts a thread and it then turns in to a personal slanging match, yes debate the subject as much as you want but NOT the poster.
In regards to stats, Migration is top and CTF second.
Personally I like CTF and usually come in for some off topic banter.

I like to read a good balanced debate on here but I think there are occasions when some should re-read their comments before posting and consider the impact on others. Words used can be more confrontational, inflammatory than intended - it just needs a little thought at times. Overall I agree good banter on the forum should be welcomed.

I llke CFT as well, gives me something to read when there is nothing on TV (ie most of the time). I do think there has been less non personal heated debate recently, which does make the section less interesting, but there is a line between debating the subject and being personal and maybe things have gotten a bit personal recently. Can't really say as I pick up all those kind of threads after they have been moderated.

I do wonder though with CTF if some new members are put off because there are a group of regulars who all seem to know each other and it seems like there is a bit of an in crowd. Or maybe that's just me and my paranoia......

I think you shouldnt be frightened to post your 'opinion' as long as you don't name names...personally insult etc....I think there has been a bit of ''oooh you can't say that!' on here...well I actually think you can...we dont live in a pre moderated, nicey nicey world unfortunately and if you dont want your lifestyle/comments/opinions/ analysed dont put them up there for general discussion!

alternatively if you only want supportive answers...ask for them, ask people not to reply unless they have something nice to say...if that doesnt work...wont do every time, ask mods to close thread if its not going in the direction you wanted/expected. Ive done that before. Tried to start a feel good thread and had it hijacked. Everyones prerogative to post what they like...your prerogative to close your thread.
