I was going to start quilting classes but think I would get more out of being able to make my own clothes.

My MIL is a brilliant dress maker but she hardly ever does any, she made a silk Kimono a couple of years ago and I am sure if I asked her for it she would give it to me, but it is really difficult to fathom out how to get into it, I have tried it on a couple of times and it was beautiful. She made it for an exhibition. She also does a lot for the church, she is always making Bishopīs ?? cloaks ?? and the Vicar at her local church wears a neck thing ?? Munch whatīs it called ?? that she has made. When I was over last there was one of her wall hangings in the church.

I think it is lovely to be able to be individual in our style, I have gone through all kinds of fashion trends, but now tend to buy what I feel comfortable in ... I love my Boo Radley tunic, with a scarf thrown around the neck and some vintage jewellery.

Love to accessorise with unusual tights .......... they can make or break an outfit, nearly always go for black
lol never thought I'd be asked this on here!

Bishop's cloak....could be a Chasuble or a Dalmatic, depending on churchmanship. Vicar..OH wears a Chasuble and a neck thing... lol... called a Stole.

I have been trying recently to add a little bit more colour into my wardrobe, I.e., steer away from black, but I am just having so much trouble, I love black, it is forgiving, it goes with nearly everything and is timeless.

I have introduced a bit more colour such as red, and a bit of animal print, but animal print can be a bit dangerous, so I only have a couple of nice pieces which go well with my red cardigan.

Curious to see if you girls and guyīs are collectors of black clothes, or do you wear white, a colour I hardly wear, I have white Jeans but only wear them now and then, as for white blouses, beige and grey blouses I always look as if I am ill, they just seem to make me look washed out. I am very fair skinned, hence my reason for having a predominantly dark collection.

I have also started to buy a few more expensive pieces, which if my plan goes well will become wardrobe staples, and not date and wash and wash for many years to come.

Most of my shoes are black too, I have a couple of pairs of red, but not that many.

Over to you peepīs ............. please post images of your favourite pieces, I love fashion and hope it shows, well not so much fashion but nice clothes and accessories.
Yeh I have a lot of black stuff.

I am like you shoes, very fair skin so whites, creams and taupes wash me out completely. I suit warm colours - reds, browns, aubergine, charcoal, black.

I tend to wear fitted black or dark coloured shift dresses for work with mid heel boot or shoe. I have been collecting Hermes scarves for many years - usually get them for birthday / Crimbo so I jazz the dresses up with a nice scarf and a little cropped cardie or shrug. The dresses themselves are not expensive. I also have two plain DVF wrap dresses which I bought years ago and wear now and again.

My favourite staples are by Marccain. These clothes are so well made and beautifully cut; they wash up like new every time. I have two black polo necks which were expensive when bought and I reckon they have been in the washing machine ~100 times and still like new.

I also love Joseph knitwear, Whistles and Malene Birger for little dresses, jackets and skirts.

Out of work I tend to live in skinny jeans, knee high boots or ballerina shoes depending on weather and custo or pucci style tops, layered knitwear or a fitted jacket.

Whenever I buy something I always stick to classic styles instead of trending items - no harem pants, jumpsuits or similar. I tend to get many years out my clothes so even though they cost in the beginning, I get my money's worth. I am still wearing pieces I bought 7 or 8 or even 10 years ago.

I only buy what I really like. I steer clear of clothes sales because invariably I end up buying stuff I will not wear because it is a bargain. In the sales I look out for cashmere sweaters / cardigans, leather gloves / scarves, costume jewellery and mac coats.

I also like you Shoes have quite a shoe collection which I really take care of. (love all your pics) I get my boots and shoes re-heeled and the soles re-tipped before they are worn down. Most high street shoes don't do my size because my feet are very tiny and narrow. I did ballet for many years and think it stopped them growing bigger?
Some pics of bits and pieces below. Not me in the dress btw!

All I'll say is that I walked into what looked like a very staid pigiama shop today and boy, did they have some interesting "outfits" round the back! Now I know why they put all the flanelette stuff in the window

Beautiful ....... I had a lovely DVF dress, but I stupidly gave it away when I was sorting out to come here, I gave it to the dogs home, just hope they got a decent price for it.
The scarf is beautiful, you clearly have very good taste, it also helps being so slim, when I was skinny I could wear anything now I have to be extremely careful.
Like the boots too, I am NOW a great believer in less is more, but I havenīt always been like that, I used to go to the sales and go mad, the latest style, the latest colour, but now I prefer to be a bit more selective, like the Jeans I bought last week, which will go with so much and look good with boots or shoes and hopefully still be with me in 5 years time.
