Voters have a responsibility to not be completely gullible and to see promises in the context of past performance. People use a BS detector when they are in a used car yard; why do they turn it off when in a polling booth?

We have been told that every prison in the country is going to be put up for privatisation in the next several years, which means redundencies, less pay, less pension and retire later. Also the post office is being privatised, its the future, so get used to it.

Labour almost bankrupted the country along with the feckless bankers, the Tories on the other hand are taxing us to death to pay off the deficit, but at the same time they lowered the top tax rate so the rich can get even richer, seems fair to me ........ Not.

Tories were not voted in, how can people who have never lived in the real world decide our future.

Are you trying to say that Labour or the Libs are in touch with the real world? Labour helped to screw the country with poor fiscal control, spend, spend, spend, borrow borrow borrow. No boom and bust promise, but they failed to build up any industrial infrastructure in manufacturing over 13 years. They spent billions on the NHS, Education without seeing any real improvement. They over saw a huge rise in people collecting benefits and people deciding that they wouldn't work. They encouraged huge personal debt, riding high on the booming economy.

Tories are a bunch of wasters, they are cutting to much and are putting the country in risk. They are not in touch with the people they represent, but I don't think that any politicians are. Can't stand any of them to be honest.

I agree with the sentiments but I believe the Tories have increased spending!
They just haven't increased it in line with the escalating costs so there are cuts happening.
Its a mess and I can not see anyone in the politcal parties having any answers.
To attack someone for "being rich or posh" doesn't seem a sensible way to judge how competent they are to do a job.
Blair, Brown and Balls sure made a mess!
