Inconsiderate DIY-ER!!!
Im normally a very easy going person, try my hardest to get on with people, But..... enough is enough..
We had new neighbors move in around 3 months ago, Seemed really nice, they have two young children under school age, Well the last few months, they have totally gutted their house, They say they will be pleased when its finished as they can't live in the mess any longer. Hubby comes home from work around 4 ish, and home all weekend, Now weather hasn't been that great, so you would think they would spend this time getting the house together wouldn't you?
But No they can't do that, they start banging around about 7 pm every evening, would be fine if it went on an hour or so, but it doesn't. Last night or should i say, this morning it was gone 2am
They have been out today, and just started with an electric drill!!!!!!!!
Would you say this is reasonable of them, when they know full well we have young kids to get up in the morning for school.......
Ok rant over, will have another Glass of wine

I gutted my house Dawny, dump it was so i took it back to the bare brick and renewed everything, most of it i done myself(except plumbing+wiring),hanging doors, putting casings in,new floors and ceilings etc,12 skips i took out of here, sometimes i didnt get home from here till 1 am,BUT once 9 o'clock(PM) came i'd paint,or tile a floor,so as there was no noise for the neighbours, yer just have to manage the refurb the rite way,and my neighbours are tone deaf!90+ YOA!
So no,thats totally unfair and i'd have to say something if i had kids tbh, hope things improve Dawny

I am with the mad scouser on this one,
it is totally out of order what they are doing and they obviously dont give two hoots about your family and your young children so i reckon you would be well within your rights to have a word or two, 2 am on a Sunday morning is just taking the piss.

I would definitely have a word with your neighbours that's outrageous. Working on there house till gone 2am!!! pffft
I had the same problem last year when new neighbours moved in, But I couldn't say anything as they started after 7am and finished before 11pm.
If it had been outside the noise abatement curfew I would of said something.
I even had to come home from hospital after an anesthetic and surgery to have to listen to carpet fitters banging around for a few hours when all I wanted was my bed and sleep.
Luckily they are no longer making too much noise but I did get woken up at 7:20am the other day to the sounds of a drill!!!
I feel your pain..... go and politely ask them to be more considerate especially with you having young children in the house.

Just buy the biggest drill you can find Dawny, attach the biggest drill bit you can, then drill right through the connecting wall at about 3am Monday morning.
I think they will take the hint
How can you shape the future if you dont understand the past . . . .

are they early risers, if not, they soon will be, if I was you
