      Brisbane City Workers

Now Brisbane is back on line after the floods, I'm hearing from a lot of sources that there's a lot of people that work in the flood affected area's are getting sick due to the bacteria thats been left in the drains and on the roads etc. Has anyone else heard this cos me and noreen don't want to catch anything bad.

Not seen or read anything about people getting sick. There has been a few reports about the Brisbane river saying it's rank and was even before the floods, they are wanting some sort of inspection/control so its cleaned up.

It hasn't been widespread but yes there have been reports of people becoming ill from flood related diseases. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Bribie is a great place to live. I do worry that it will become over developed. But at least they have stopped the plans for a desalination plant on there, that would have been a real eyesore. We have a few members of PIO on Bribie, its a popular choice, and hour from the city and a perfect location to live. Now i am beginning to sound like a real estate agent

Lol, the only problem is as beautiful as the place is it gets cut off easily with flooding also wouldn't like to come in on the Bruce Highway every morning, it can be absolute murder around Mango Hill some mornings
