What's the most scared or frightened that you've ever been?

Was surfing at yellow patch a few years back, nice hot summers day with some friends.
We got to the back and a friend of mine and I were chatting when all of a sudden we this HUGE grey figure swims underneath us. It was massive, I think I poohed my self a little. Its one of those moments when you brain just shuts down and you actually dont know what to do.
I have never been so frightened in my life and did not know if I should swim or just tread water, got on my board and left nothing dangling and just let the board drift for 10 mins before going as afast as I could for the shore.

Mine has to be when i was 8 months pregnant and i was out on the fields training 3 german shepherds off lead ( thankgod)
When from behind me i heard a thud thud thud , saw the german sheps look alert and all turn at once to the direction of the thud thud a hoofing huge Rottie with no owner heading straight for me and he wasn't coming to say hello . snarling like hell i couldn'tt out run him i would of been a great hunt for him ..... My german shep pulled me to the ground by my jacket gently and i curled into a ball he was still snarling ....the 3 german sheps went on the attack and herded him seemed like ages and the noises were awful ...... don't think the poor rottie knew what hit him with those 3 , they got him to submit in the end .
I looped a lead on him in the end and he gently walked him away with the 3 german sheps still herding him from either side and his flank so he couldn't hurt me .

never did find his owner ., i did wonder if somone had dumped him and he went a bit mental bless him

got to love big dogs even the snarlie ones sometimes lol

Remembered having a dream I was on a plane and it was about to crash. Sadly for me though I wasn't in my bed when I awoke from the dream. I was on a plane coming back from holiday that was experiencing turbulence at the time. Probably one of the most surreal and freakiest moments of my life.

Also, when I was about 14. Was climbing on a church roof. The roof was quite steep and I was near the edge. To get to the top you had to run up to keep momentum. Bearing in mind the incline was quite sharp. So up the roof I was running when I felt my foot slip underneath me. From loosing grip to opening my eyes again was one big flash (I don't necessarily believe in your life flashing before your eyes but something weird happened). Anyway, the next thing I know I'm hanging on to the peak. Don't know what happened, and I don't really care. Instinctively I survived without being aware of it, so the shock didn't come until after.

Two things spring to mind. Firstly, one night when I was sleeping I woke up and it felt like something was holding me down. I couldn't move or anything. I just shut my eyes tight, and then when I opened them I am 100% positive that I saw someone standing in the corner of my room. I was absolutely scared whitless, but then it just vanished. My dad had died a short while before that, so I guess thoughts of the afterlife etc were on my mind.

Second occasion was when I was 29 weeks pregnant with our eldest. I started having mild contractions on the way home from work one night. They hadn't stopped by 10pm, and were more painful and regular so we phoned the hospital and went in. I presumed they were going to tell me they were Braxton Hick contractions and would send me home, but they monitored and scanned me and started talking about c-sections and things because she was breach. They gave me two rather painful steroid injections in my bum to mature her lungs and give her a chance. Luckily the contractions stopped the following morning and I went on to have her at 38 weeks, but I have never been so terrified in my life, as thinking I might lose my daughter.

That is classic sleep paralysis, which incidentally is thought to be what ghost stories originated from. Have a google, from experience it helps to know what it is if it ever happens again. If it does ever happen again, once you wake up and can move, get up and walk around and stretch your muscles, then when you go back to sleep, avoid lying on your back. If you just drift straight back to sleep it's likely to happen again (happened about five times in one night to me the first time, very scary).

Am I allowed to make one up ?

It hasn't happened to me, but I imagine if I was asleep one night and woke to the sound of someone breaking into my house I would probably be totally freaked out.

My frightening experience was the Tsunami in Phuket 2005... I will never forget that massive wave and my children's screams.

Susie, My cousin also survived the Tsuami, but sadly died just a few days later while do a diving job in Eastern Europe, they could not rescue him..too much silt had covered him. Unbelievable that he lived through a monumentos thing like that Tsuami and then died doing his job just a few days later. :( So glad you and your children were all ok.

No need to mention the most frightened I have been.

      xx
