Does working in a shop with no air con and it being ridiculously hot count? Not that we were let off. It was wayyy too hot but still had to work! Now I should be able to use the excuse that it's too cold to work in winter (travelling inbetween jobs) lol.

49 C for me, drilling in the Great Sandy Desert, WA. many times in the Kimberlies and Pilbara between 40 C and 47 C.
News yesterday was that Roxby Downs, Sarf Oz, was 49 C. A big gold/uranium mine there.

      Cheers, Bobj.

      INTRSTING THREAD...FOUND THIS

In Victoria Australia if it reaches 35 degrees you must have 20 minutes off per hour. these 20 minutes should be in an air conditioned environment at 38 degrees all work stops. If no airconditioned tea room is available they send you home.

Mate!!! Made me giggle at that, reason being that the Wyndham (WA) wharfies did exactly that, but this was in the 1960s. They went on stike to get an air-conned room on the jetty...They got it, only it had a tin roof with NO insulation, ALL glass louvres and NO front wall! And a flamin' big air-con unit at one end...About as useful as a 4ft high shade tree.

      Cheers, Bobj.

pmsl Brides @ Dennis's eyebrows.... I do laugh though because he never complained about the heat, just the damned bloweys (flies) oh and the white collar workers who would come and stand by him with a clip board making sure he was doing a "take five...elf and safety"

There is nothing official in Mr Siam's company handbook regarding heat stroke, so no stopping work every 20 mins for that crew... the contractors have heat elf and safety, but as he has just said, you cant rip up a railway line and stop because its too hot.. the iron ore has to get to the boats
