Loneliness, An Odd Thing...

This is a good thread. I don't often feel lonely, being an only child and that I guess I am used to my own company. Sometimes, though, I get the urge to mix with people but it is a fine line and sometimes when I am out at a party or dinner I just get the urge to be sat at home in front of the telly with husband and cat. Our 4 children have all left home now but when they were all there I sometimes used to lock the bathroom door and have a long long bath- just to be alone!

Starlight , i have tried that so many times (lock the bathroom door ) but it just doesnt work, i find they one bye one come in to scratch my back with water ect , put bubbles on my head and back , bubbles on my legs , ....every time i take a bath (not too often) I take a suduko..then the girls wanna help .......there is no time out time...........so all you chaps with families at Christmas , have a great time , i envy you ....we have no body and a few tears will be shed in our house away from the children...........

It really is an odd thing, this loneliness; seems that the partner break-up is the worst feeling of all.
Whopperdaisy's comment, "... I never felt so isolated as I did then," really emphasises, for me, the pain and feeling of inadequacy that one must cope with. And yet, the will to be a part of this world gets one through the heartache and loneliness.
