Our problem is that my husband has felt for some time that he is actually dyslexic - he has never had it confirmed. He feels that he will really struggle with this test - if it was physics, maths or a practical test he would sail through. He did an online dyslexic test sometime ago and it looks very likely from the result that he is.

We are thinking maybe try the state sponsored route so he doesn't have to do the IELTS.

Hi Milliemoo

In my last post I forgot to say Yvonne is Dyslexic, she was diagnosed about 6 years ago whilst at uni, the original report recomended she be alowed 25% extra reading time plus alowance for spelling, she applied for the IELTS test and sent the report off with it, they agreed initialy and then withdrew this saying the report had to be less than 2 years old (like she would ever be cured of Dyslexia, not) one option would have been to be re-assessed, the original 'proffessor' would do it at a cost of +£700 then they reduced it to +£300! Yvonne being stubborn refused (some choice words were used) she sat the test and just failed the reading part (got 6 needed 7). She says she will sit it again (and again) until she passes instead of giving the proffessor from the Dyslexia society the money !
Good luck with youre choice.

PS :- She flew through the talking part though!

Ok, so i assume this is an English test of sorts...what croc of shi*....some of the migrants that are coming to OZ from nearby Asian countries would fail if they had to sit any sort of English speaking test. Drives me nuts...then ofcourse there is their driving.....
