we have a local directory here in leeming and bull creek that serves the local areas - do they have one where you are - that's another option.

Wouldn't make any odds you have to have enough hits in the first place and the net is not as popular here and broadband is still alot more expensive......this one was thrown toegether to test the water.....besides it does the job, more tricks and toys on it would not help potential customers or myself.

Jai ... just try the FREE things that have been suggested ... it wont cost you anything but time and energy, and you don't get if you don't ask remember! And i know what you say about places being far away but some people do have a distance to travel to get to work ... which also means they'd have less time to get to a salon so thats good for you!!! If you don't want to travel to advertise in these places then give them a call and ask if you can send them a poster to be put up in staff rooms ... its the cost of a phone call and a stamp!

Just give it a go please ... for me lol

Hey Jai, my OH is also a hairdresser and we are planning to come to OZ in August.

You know I once saw this guy, also a fellow Brit, in Mallorca who started a hairdressing business and at first he was really struggling to get clients in...Then he hit a bright idea: he started running for a local charity, and in his run, when he saw anyone he explained he was doing it for a charty and also he handed out flyers to his saloon.

A week later, he started to get clients from almost all over Mallorca....

That could be the answer: an event to get some attention...

Thanks for the idea, i was only just thinking along those lines a couple of days ago funny enough....i have put cards in hair wholesalers and beauty salons since too.
I am definately getting there now bit by bit but the work comes in from where ever it wants when it wants (strange huh) it as if they all know each other lol as the phone will ring a dozen times in an hour then nothing for the rest of the day lol.
I'm still doing the papers and the internet etc and they all bring in work evenly really if the truth is known.
Am going on holiday soon s i may join into some event of some sort at some sort and see how it goes, but thanks again for the great idea:)
