Question Hello Everyone

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask for some advice. Me and my OH are thinking about moving to Australia. We haven't even started applying yet......slow starters!!!! I have two young kids (5 &2). I have loads of research to do, but wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a city that's great for families? I fancy Sydney, Perth or Brisbane, but I have heard Sydney isn't the best place for young kids. Can anyone give me any advice?

Thanks,

Amandajane

Hi Amanda Jane

I have been to all the cities you mention and I would recommed Perth or Brisbane. We are going to Melbourne but Brisbane would be our first choice and we hope to end up there eventually.

It's really a case of personal choice and it would be good if you could visit for yourself before making the decision. Employment will also help make your decision.

All the best and good luck.

Les

Hi and welcome to poms in oz!!
As already said it is so personnal and any opportunity to visit a few of the cities would be great if you could?I travelled round Australia 15 years ago and visited virtually everwhere except Perth. Now married with 2 girls(4 and 2 yrs** my husband and I both want to live in Perth ,oddly as neither of us have been!!It just sounds perfect to us ,really geared towards an outdoor and family life. The mediteranean climate is a real appeal, also my husbands job offer is there and we have 2 close friends now living there.
Am sure you will receive lots of useful advice on this website.Goodluck and keep us posted with your progress.

hi amanda jane

welcome to pio

we are heading to perth as my children are 13,11,8 and when looking into places and

speaking to people they all said perth for families.

never been to oz so will all be new once we get over there just got to sell the

house which seems to be taking forever. just ask lots of questions as someone on here

will be able to help,

may i just give you a tip and start putting money into an account as we did at the begining

of the process and a yr later still saving which will be nice to help out with the little

extra's.

anyway good luck what ever you decide as its a fantastic adventure which has it's

up's and downs

julie
