Amougst us going Homers - Thread II

Dear all going home

I have opend this thread Just for us lot going back to the Uk.

Just so we can talk about our concernse of going home and regrets we have.
What did not click for us in Aus? What scares you about going back, what you miss about home or what ever?
I want to keep this with just us going home and maybe it'll give people a insight to coming out hear to make an educated decision on if to make the plunge or not.
I really do not want to get into a slanging match with those who love Australia. After all I'm sure we would like both countrys to be happy & crime free.
I like a slanging match but not this time it's just for us going home to talk about what ever. But you Aussie lot can look if you want. Even do a siimlar thread telling the other side of the coin. Just so all thos back home get an even prospective.

So I'll let some one else start then. Earlswood lets hear what you have to say.
and you Yellow's.

John

I think I recall John mentioning in other threads that one of the reasons was money as he could not earn as much in oz as he could in the Uk and his standard of living was not as good.

I think this is an important post - Thanks for starting it John.

This new thread is not a free for all.

If John chooses not to discuss his own reasons for returning, it is his prerogative to remain silent about them. Please respect that.

He has specifically said in his post that he wants to hear the views of OTHERS who have decided to return or may be considering doing so. The others may not choose to respond. If they do not then the thread will fizzle out.

However, speculating about what John's reasons might be is not the purpose of this thread.

Best wishes

Gill

Hi Gill,

It was not my intention to offend/upset or anything else that might be suggested just merely point out what I had read in the past from other threads.

Thanks

Easy peasy!!

I am homesick, Britain is my home. Baby due anytime, missing family and friends at this time.
Also, hubby can get better paid work in the TV industry in the UK.
Oh.. and I am not fond of Oz food... sorry. I miss my English muck! LOL!!!

I do think this is important to all back home so yes I'm happy to answer anything.

But those girls have really worn me out. I need my bed. But I've got 3 weeks on my hands before we go home so ask anything and I'll tell all.

I'll tell how a crab nearly ruined my marrage
I'll tell you about the women in my life.
The scandles the rumers
I 'll tell what really happend between me and Diana Doors
And who I believe killed Rod Haul.

But it'll wait I'm off to bed

Good night John X

Good night John,

Yes I think it is important aswell, from our point of view we have my husbands parents in the uk who tell us their reasons for returning albeit be it over 30 years ago that they left australia but I expect they are a lot of the same.

i'm gong back too, i've learned a lot of lessons since being here, the main one being that there is no such place as utopia and another is the importance of reading the negative posts as well as the positive ones on forums such as this.
I also miss my friends like mad and have been questioning my right (moraly) to take my kids away from people that love them very much (grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins ect.) . The dark evenings, the lack of culture, the macho posturing, the way people dress, the weather, the beer, work ethic, the list goes on.
If Essex John doesn't mind I will join him in answering any questions on my reasons for wanting out and my plans for the future.
