What type of birth certificates needed

I hope maybe somebody could answer this question.
I moved from south africa to uk using our unabridged birth certificates without a problem.Can someone please tell me what type of birth certificate do the australian immigration need.The unabridged states both parents details,is this sufficient?
1. Unabridged cert.
2. Computer printed abridged cert.
3. Certified copy of birth register (Vault copy)
4. Handwritten abridged cert.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I never had a full brith certificate, which immi required..I contacted the local registry office where I was born and requested a full copy..
was chrged £7 if i recall..
This was fine for our visa app

we were the same as jo the cert has to have your parents info on it ect

Also from South Africa, and we recently had a problem with birth certs - previous posts are correct must be full certified certificate including parents details. Hope this helps.
