Hi Mo,

I read your message and my heart went out to you. We have only been here 1 week and I tried really hard not to have the rose coloured spectacles that you talked about but am not sure I managed it.

I too have made a huge effort in the school yard to the point that the other mums must see a sign on my head saying 'desperate for friends'. I can only hope that in time I will make some firm friends but as its only been 1 week I feel its too early to worry yet.

We are off the visit Mornington this weekend and I've heard its beautiful so can't wait to see your part of Melbourne.

Giving yourselves 2 years is a wise thing to do & that's also what we have decided. Hubby really seems to like it here and so does my daughter, I am taking a little longer to settle in but I think that's mainly due to the fact that we are staying with family and I desperately need my own space.

Good luck with your college course, i'm sure you will be fine. After all you've done the hard part getting here :)

Best wishes
Anita x

If you did decide to settle here then we have a nice group of girls called the mornington pomettes which you will be made very welcome to join, we do lunch and girly nights out, and beach meets..

Hi Mo,

We went to your part of Melbourne again today and funnily enough you popped into my head as we drove through Mount Martha...not sure why but there you go.

The peninsula is beautiful and my 4 year old daughter Sophie certainly approves of the beaches. It must be nice living there.

How are you getting on? I've had a couple of strange days myself this past week as I guess the reality has set in & i'm really missing my friends. I do like it here though and really hope we make a go of it and if my daughter has any say in the matter we will never go back to the UK :-)

I'm certainly up for joining 'the Mornington pomettes' so next time you're meeting up please let me know..

Bye for now

Hi Mo,

Sorry I haven't replied sooner i've not been on here for while.

I would have loved to come on 16th but we have tickets for the Formula 1 weekend that weekend...it was a birthday present from my hubby!

Thanks for the invite though and please remember me next time and I will do my best to get down there.

Bye for now,
Anita x
