We are Geoff & Katherine, with three children Jazmin (15), Ysobelle (13) and Dominik (10). We currently live in Berkshire, UK.
Only a month ago the opportunity to work in Sydney arose, and since the job offer came through, our lives have been turned upside down, something I am sure you have all been through.
We have completed the 457 Visa application and currently waiting for feedback, medicals, x-rays etc.
In the meantime, our house is upside down as we sort through 20 years of junk, paperwork and memories. Plus redecorating before having new flooring throughout in order to sell before leaving the UK.
Very stressful
, but also very exciting

There are so many questions that remain unanswered which I am sure we will post over the next couple of months.
Our planned leaving date is 23rd November.. ..whoohoo!!
Will be glad to receive any advice from people who have emigrated recently, especially what to do beforehand and what to do immediately after arrival.
Look forward to a fun blog (to part relive the stress)

Helloooo!
Everything's looking much more loverleeee with our whacky bits & pieces around now our shipment's arrived! Our house is now a home!
We had an inspection yesterday & the chappie was very impressed with our clenliness etc!
Today's another rainy day........brrrrr!
We have Medicare which is basic health cover & we have also taken out private cover. We've heard too many stories about people having to pay thousands for health services! If Ys where to loose a hearing aid it would cost $4K for just one!!!!!!!
Haven't finished the flat pack assembling yet as we have some wrong bits & need to go back to Ikea. I have a bit of a headache and sore knees.....carpet burn from crawling about on the floor!!!!
