Childrens Future

Feeling a bit fed up today. The reason I want to emigrate is too give my two boys a better life. They are 15 and 11 and are bright. Unfortunately, while talking to my mother, she mentioned that if Australia was that good and education was great why is there a shortage of skilled workers. So, im in a bit of a tizz. What is education like and what are future prospects, ie uni, work like for them.

Hi
We moved over for the same reason and have 3 children who were 14, 13 and 9 when we moved here. The education system is more or less the same as England (I worked in a school in the UK.) There are more opportunities and it is definately a better life for everyone. Work wise, there are loads of jobs, the reason for the skill shortage is the growth of the areas. We are in Brisbane and it is growing so rapidly that the skilled workers cannot keep up. The pace of life is slower than the UK, people are much friendlier and My kids settled in really quickly which was great. Good luck |

Hi Debs!!
I know what yr saying but in Australia they have the weather and sport, sport. sport. Every post ive read about their kids settling in Oz is great so what im saying is yr giving them the best opportunity in life and if it doesnt work out you can come back (no big deal, but you tried) I'm not close to my mum so it hasnt been a big decision familiy wise but what I do Know is your a grown woman and your family is apart of you and your thoughts!!!! Just go with it and its all down to experience if nothing else!!!! Lol Lisa xxxx |
