Exactly why we're here!
Posted 19-11-2007 at 09:38 AM by The Broughtons
Well life is ticking along just nicely now. We had our 2 month anniversary last week and can't believe how settled we are in such a short time.
I'm finding it really hard to get to grips with the Christmas thing. I know it happens at the same time each year but it is just so different. I went out and bought a tree and decorations last weekend in a bid to make me a bit more festive but it isn't working yet. I do like the idea of solar powered santas and snowmen though - perhaps get some of those for the back garden and see if that helps a bit! It's also weird talking to Mum about Christmas, I've never had a christmas away from Mum before. Even once me and Mr B got together I always spent Christmas at Mums! She has already organised for her webcam to be set up so I can see them all open their presents. I just hope that doesn't make them feel sad that I'm not there and spoil their Christmas day.
But there has been a lot of happiness for us as well. Last weekend we spent lots of time on the beach, enjoying the sun, swimming and generally enjoying the great outdoors and appreciating what we have got so close to our home. I did get a teeny bit burnt despite loads of suncream but I do have a very healthy brown colour now - I've never been so tanned. We realised that this was why we'd opted for a complete change - being able to enjoy the beach when the weather was good. This was confirmed today. I got a text message from Mr B just before I left work - would you like to go to the beach when you get home? So we did, a quick change and straight down the beach for a swim before heading home for a shower and dinner. This is the perfect lifestyle and we intend to make the most of it.
