So after weeks of waiting for our acknowledgement (I think that it came back over 6 weeks later than they'd said it would - I didn't have any nails left by that point) we were expecting not to hear back from immigration until next year at the very least. We only just sent off for our UK police checks cos those take quite a while and yesterday OH gets a letter asking us to submit our meds and police checks by early Jan at the latest!! I just wanted to say that this site is a real gem and knowing that there are other Brits, er, I mean Poms, no, I do mean Brits, that are going through/have gone through/thinking of putting yourselves through the same ordeal we are going through is really very comforting. And it is an ordeal, isn't it? I swear just filling in the damn forms is some type of intelligence test, plus to see how small you can write to fit all the information into those boxes!
