well we have our pre grant letter now all we have to do is finalize flights add hotel and fly out of our new home and come back again in 2 weeks time. We have to do this because our permanent visa is a off shore one.
we do have till august 2008 to do it but thought whilst we still getting settled and our things have still not arrived, we'd go now and get it done with. we'll be then able to claim some child benefit at least to put back into our savings.
Its so exciting
Thanks for all your messages of support, they were comforting and I was getting on ok. Now Matt's dad has had a stoke, he can't talk or move one side of his body, we don't know at this stage if he will get better.
Everyone is asking if we are still leaving in December (flights booked 26 Dec) at the moment Matt does not want to think about it and is concentrating on his dad, so i don't have a clue whats going to happen at the moment, all i do know is this must be the biggest draw
Hi just wondering if anyone could give us any advice on where to live in Melbourne,Victoria.Hoping to migrate to this part of Australia but don,t know where to start. We have 4 young children. We have looked at houses for sale on the internet and have seen so many nice ones but it is hard to know if the areas are a good place to live. ny advice and opions wll be much appreciated thankyou.
Merely 90 minutes after my last posting things have changed completely. I had a call from the estate agents saying that the person who was buying the house of the person that is buying our house has pulled out. Apparently they were buying it for her mother who hadn't seen the house until today and she told them she didn't want a house with steps in the garden! What makes it even worse is that someone else was going to put an offer in on the house on the same day as they did and it looks to me like
Well, after all the months of waiting, suddenly someone put in an offer on our house. The strange thing is it's the people who live 3 doors along from us! They have sold their house to a cash buyer so there is no chain. Couldn't have worked out better!
The first 24 hours following this were surprisingly normal.... but then it eventually sank in. The first thing to hit home was the amount of organising that needs to be done. But then came the "are we doing the right thing"!
