It has just dawned on us that we have been living and breathing in OZ for 6 months - where has the time gone??

Where are we now in life? Well we have settled in Redcliffe, and can't imagine living anywhere else. It still brings goosebumps to walk along the beach front, and realise that this is home. We have made friends with 'real' Aussies, and have been nicknamed the Waussies due our Welsh accents.

After waiting patiently - and fretting constantly - we decided to phone pickfords in the guise of assuring that all peperwork had been received, but really asking ' where the bloody hell's our stuff'. Lo and behold - we had passed through customs and Quarantine pain free and a date for delivery had already been booked - but nobody had told us.

Monday morning at 8.30 - the little lorry arrived with two delivery men who dutifully filled our house with boxes. We had paid for a pack and...

Well paranoia is starting to set in big time.

We tracked our shipping container all the way from UK to Brisbane, and since the 5th March - we have been at the mercy of Quarantine and Customs. Maybe no news is good news

We've bought new furniture, but our house does not quite feel like home yet - as not cluttered with all our things. We cannot cope with the minimalistic life style - and need all our 'stuff'. The only worry is - have we got room for it all?????...

Can't Believe we've been here 2 months already.

We've had our ups and downs, but haven't quite got to the stage where we want to go back to UK. It was frustrating and extremely stressful trying to get a suitable rental - but we have settled well into our rental and its starting to feel like home.

Mike is getting used to work, and I start in April, so a little while left. Our son is happy in school, despite the odd day when he hates it - but he's a teenager and I think...

Mike is delighted that he has handed in his notice to his current employer - who was aware that we are moving to Aus yet surprised that we are definitely going. He finishes work on 15th December so we'll both have Christmas off for once, and can't wait.

Not allowed to shop for food - as got to eat what's in the cupboard and freezer, both need to be emptied ASAP. Loads of pasta and baked beans on the menu from now on!!
