Next stage - packing up
Posted 23-03-2008 at 04:31 PM by LyndaG
Have spent the last week sorting the house, we have piles to ship, piles to take in suitcase and lots of things we just 'got rid of' Sent lots to the charity shops and lots to the skip. Finally feeling a bit more sorted. Shippers come Wednesday and we leave the house Friday. And that is another stage done.
Next stage a month at my parents which the kids will love and then the fly the 2nd May.
How do I feel? very focused had a wobble last week questioned everything we were doing, got over it and now raring to. Havent really thought about the other end well thats not quite true spent long time planning this but mean as in not going to stress about when we first get there, lucky to have family to stay with so time to catch our breath. Making it all sound easy but this has to be the hardest most questionable and emotional thing weve done. Looking forward to Stage OZ.

Hi Lynda
We are in exactly the same situation as yourself. As I'm typing this my wife is packing up/sorting out the junk, etc. It's amazing how much rubbish you accumulate over the years. All going well our house sale completes in a couple of weeks. We are also then off to the Parents for a couple of months, with the move date being around the end of June. I'm also questioning whether this is the right move or not. Constantly in a state of 'wobble' right now......currently checking out the money side of things, and also considering whether it will be better for my kids (two boys) in the long run. I just hope it is...the emotions are running high now too...it seems like everything we've worked hard to achieve here in the UK are for nothing. It seems that each day my wife and I are set on the move, then as we research we waver between on and then off.....it's a nightmate !!! Good luck with the move... |
