8 weeks today we will land in Australia. The kids are sooo looking forward to it they are 7 and 5 and only see the positive and yet they leave behind so much. I have made some massive decisions on my kids behalf and hope that they really do have the lifestyle ahead of them that we are doing this for.
I always new since my first visit to Australia on my own as a teenager to visit my family that it was the place I would love to be. Then travelled the country for 12 months with my best friend at 21 and had a fantastic time the sun the beaches the parties back packing was great!
Nest stage of my life back in England met my hubby have two gorgeous kids and 'settled' in to everday life in England. Though not settled and in 2002 made the trip to OZ with my 'family'. and had the most fantastic month and now I could settle. Or not! now I had a taste of Oz with my hubby n little ones I was so torn.
Torn between a comfortable life with nice house, secure jobs, happy kids with family all around us and the unkown of famil life in Australia.
Went back for another reckie last September I am lucky stay with family so only flights to pay for. tried to look through different eyes as to living there and not as a tourist or on holiday but truthfully we will only know if we really go.
Visa process was good to us hubby a carpenter. house sold in a few months and now for the hardest bit, the actual leaving. This bit I never had planned.......but like I said my kids can only see the positive and I take it from them that we will go with the positive attitude and be excited and look forward and I will post later as to what else it takes. my wife and i are moving out this year at the ages of 53 and 54 respectivly with what we make on our house as our savings , but i think its the best move we have ever made, so enjoy it lynda and family!

Hi there, Good for you, go for it. I have just moved out here with my husband and children 2 months ago. The kids are just loving it. We did this for them and already I can see this is the right move. I get very homesick but have mad lots of friends who have supported me. Good luck

hi i will be in the same situation as you soon, we are in the early stage of selling our house, and hope to go july but i think it will be the best move for us and our kids too good luck and keep your chin up.(hubby carpenter too) can't wait to go
