ggrrrr... jeff & I have decided to keep our move to oz quiet until the visa is sorted, house in france sold etc etc... it makes sense, I only have to give a months notice at work and you never know what will happen if you tell them 6 months in advance...

my family know but thats about it... our close friends know that we eventually want to end up in oz but they have no idea how soon we are planning to go...

i guess i'm just finding it hard because I can't talk to anyone about it and i'm super super excited !! Work is a bit wierd because I almost feel like i'm lying to my colleagues because everything that is going on in my life has something to do with moving to Australia.... so i think according to them I must be really boring company in the office...quiet too !!!

anyone else had this ?

i just want everyone to know !!!

When I applied for our visa I told absolutely everyone that would listen (but only after we'd told our families). I then kep it quiet once we'd got our visas because I wanted to decide when I would hand my notice in and not be badgered (I was a teacher so I had deadlines for each term). My OH kept it relatively quiet at work and only told people once we had our visas.

If you have decided that it's best not to discuss it then you're just going to have to keep visiting poms and getting everything off your chest this way!!!

I know what you mean about wanting to scream it from the roof tops!

I have told most of my family now except my sister, but my mum has told her (despite me asking her not to!) ans my sister thinks i don't know she knows, so i have had 2 rather strained conversations with her, where i don't really want to tell her, but can't think of anything to talk about!

When people say "what have you been up to?" its really hard because all you want to say is "planning to move to Oz!!" And when people talk about the future you have nothing to contribute because all your thinking is "i won't be here by then!"

Maybe by the time you tell them, your initial excitement will have passed anyway?
