Hello All!!!!
Trying to get the hang of this blogging, i'm sure i've sent 2 where they're not suppose to go as can't track them down at all, oh well trial and error!
I'm Lisa 34, OH Kev 40 plus 2 kiddiwinks Jasmin 10 and Callum 8! Kev has been accepted on his skills visa as carpenter and we have now just sent final paperwork for our visas which has been received by our consultant in perth and our just awaiting confirmation that all is ok to forward to migration (something like that husband is dealing with it all, I just track down all the MOUNTAINS of paperwork) but I think we have finally done it as there is no possible more information we could give (surely???).
Have just put house on market hopefully can sell with cat (that would save alot of hassle) and have been looking at moving to Brizzy!!! Hubby has been there on holiday 20 years ago, I have never been abroad but hey you only live once eh!
Look forward to any pref. to which suburb, ie good schools, be able to walk to school, close to beach, jobs for carpenters, great parks, money growing on tree's, that kind of thing. All knowledge, tips, experience etc would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lisa
We live on the Gold Coast, about hour from Brisbane. We totally love it here, it has everything we could wish for. The are we live in is called Clear Island waters, about 10 mins form Surfers Paradise. The schools are all really nice, the shops are great and the beaches are beautiful. My Husband is a Panel beater but one of our best friends is a carpenter, he did work for someone at first but found that he could make more money working for himself. The Gold Coast is always looking for tradesmen due the increased population, houses are going up everywhere. We were so excited too aout moving over here, its a huge step but in our case it was a good move. We are so happy here and have no regrets at all. I do miss my mates as I had a great circle of friends in UK. We have made friends over here but it took me a while. house prices vary, start at $350,000 ish. depending which area. Think Im balbbering on Good Luck with it all |

Believe me this works' did 2 week health visitor sleep programme after breast feeding my son for 11 months, heartbreaking as it is when they cry but learnt there are lots of different crys and alot just mean attention!!! Enjoy the eary days and it gets better I promise!!! Lol Lisa xxxx |

Hi Lisa,
just spent about 20 mins writing you an email and I vanished! Im new to all this. Anyhow will try again Look at Robina, thats a nice area, 5 mins from where we are. There are so many beautiful places. Have you been here on Holiday? If not you should just to make sure you like it! I never imagined it would be this beautiful, for some reason I expected it to be all sandy and no one around for miles! Didnt even fancy it for a holiday really. I was scared to death about moving here, the closer it came the more scared I got. The leaving party was horrendous I cried all through it. Thats the hardest thing, saying bye to people. Thankfully we have had heaps of friends coming over for holidays, they all want to emmigrate once they have seen it. Only the lucky ones get in! I hear its getting harder now. The paperwork is a nightmare but I think the putting your life on hold is worse. silly things bothered me, like not wanting to buy a new hairdryer as the plugs are different! You have to be so dedicated and just keep thinking what an adventure you will be having and what a great experience for your kids. I only planned to come here for 2 years, If I didnt like it then i would just come back to Uk, and there was no way I would have bouight a house for at least 3 years just to be sure, well that plan fell apart. We bought a house after 3 months! If you dont settle then its not the end of the worlf, we have had friends emmigrate then go back and then return again! Oh quick question before I go, did you start your babies on Rice? love Tammy |

Think he may have to get somesort of blue card? to work for himself. love tammy |

Thats great news about selling the house! fingers crossed. We have just finished renovating ours, taken a year but well worth it. We never dreamed we would ever get a house like that but we were really lucky buying and selling at the right time. I still walk around it going wow!
the blue card is if your hubby wants to work on a building site, and he needs to get a some sort of liscence just to work as a carpenter, apparently its a bit of a drag but everyone has to do it. What do you do for work? I worked in a shop, very exciting! much prefer being a mum but need to get back to doing something soon money is tight. Just put Tallulah-Belles name down for a school, Its a lovely one near where we live, its private but only costs $4,000 a year they have 2 teachers per lesson! that sounds good eh? but the waiting list is so long she might not get in, thankfully state school round the corner is nice too. love Tammy |

Me, im a carer for the elderly/disabled (i know very glamorous) but in past have worked Barclays Bank, then a music promotions company, then manager of shop, receptionist for garage, barwork so generally im a jack of all trades and master of nowt!!! Last two houses kev renovated them himself but has promised we'll by one in oz already done as fed eating and breathing building dust plus as he did it himself was always on the bottom of his priorities what with doing it all day at work!! Just finished helping out this morning with kids cycling proficiency at my kids school and now off to my glamorous job!! love Lisa xx |

Hey dont knock working for the elderly I have done that my whole life nearly! I managed a home in UK for 4 years, then did a couple of years of my nurse training sadly I didnt finish it though, long story but ended up moving my nan in with us, she had dementia, Parkinsons, was blind, incontinent too! hard work! Anyway looked after her for a year then we moved here. I said I didnt want to do care work anymore, sort of tired out with it all, so hence the shop job. To be honest though I do really miss it so hopefully may go back to it one day. I recon its a job that sort of chooses you.
Hubby back from soccer now, better gp and look like Ive been cleaning! love Tammy There is plenty of work in that area |

Hi Lisa,
Any buyers for your house yet? We have been looking for one to buy this weekend to renovate and sell on. Im a bit worried that were going to struggle with only one wage so I recon I could do it for a job, Im hoping my dad will do it with me. Hopefully I can find one that just needs a bit of a face lift, will let you know how I go. Weather beautiful today 32. Im a red head naturally so I dont or cant sun bathe ( have a fake tan machine!) How will you and your family cope with the heat? You should be fine having dark skin, so lucky! My hubby is dark, goes a lovely colour, I think Im albino! Hope all is ok at your end. love Tam |

Hi Lisa,
Wenches! sounds a blast, try and get pics up. Going shopping for some new clothes today, been dieting or should I say starving for the past 2 months, on slimming pills, I know bad!!! but they are working thank god. I put on 30 kilos!! I was just under 9 stone and ended up being 13!!! like a bloody whale! Lost most of it now, Im 10 now so just got a stone to go. Its amazing how much your body changes, boobs have gone waaaayyyy south! they would give me black eyes if I ran. Anyhow! Tallulah-Belle god love her is doing a bit better, I discovered that if I put her in a blanket, hold both ends and swing her she drifts off to sleep. I did it in the shopping center car park the other day and this women told me off!! I felt like a child abuser. I was doing it in the boot so I couldnt have dropped her or anything. Would have told her to piss off but didnt like swearing infront of baby! Just spoke to mum and shes going to smuggle some rusks in for me. Shes still in UK, bored silly cant wait to get back here. Hopefully she should be home in a few weeks. Hopefully will go house hunting this weekend, Im all geard up for it now, Just small problem money!! better get to bank and see if I can borrow. Did you go straight back to work after babies? I really dont want to, especially over here. Its way too nice to work! Are your kids excited about moving here? We live near Dream World, Movie world, Sea world and wet and wild, its amazing for the kids. We took Liam (my stepson) hes 19 now. He loved it, so did I ! better go get shopping, will either come home happy or totally peeved that nothing fits! Take care Love tam |

Hi tammy!!!
How did the clothes shopping go? You've lost alot of weight quickly be careful as it takes 9 month for your body to prepare for birth and 9 months to recover!! or maybe i'm talking out of jelousy ha ha!! Kevs taking THE test on saturday got to be in portsmouth by 8.30am and stay there till 5ish, he's calling it a daytime prison. Plus we've got no kids on friday nite and can't even get bladdered !!The weather here has decided to turn fine now about 17degs, plus tumble dryer packed up and not allowed to get a new one so have clothes hanging everywhere its driving me mad. Im not gonna tell you haw much I weigh but its in double figures plus I love my food & drink too much. My dad owns a tanning studio which is handy hence why I go fake but dont get me wrong Im not close to my parents at all he drives past the bottom of my drive 3 times aday and never pops in, hence why moving to oz hasnt been a big decision for me. I cant wait and its all I can focus on at moment so after saturday hopefully things will be moving forward!! Have a fab day, what you doing at the weekend, howz your hubby getting on with painting the house, by the way mine is from Glasgow and Im from Crawley West sussex which is not far from brighton. We are now living right on the southcoast about 5 minutes walk from the sea, which is roughly where we want to be in Brisbane area!! Sorry blabbing away there felt I had to tell you abit about us!!! Take care lol Lisa x |

Hi Lisa
Love my food and wine too, too much of both Im afraid. Thought Id try vodka instead someone told me it isnt as fattening? Love the stuff! with lime and lemonade (diet of obviously!) This weekend were going to our friends house for dinner. Their from Scotland, Galashield? have lived here for 2 years. Hes a house husband (a real good one too) and his wife earns the bucks, something to do with founderies? or something like that, I know she earns a great wage though, its like a family buisiness. Her parents and sister and hubby also live here. Deb and Chaz our friends have 2 girls 8 and 6, really lovely kids with massive personalities. We see them a fair bit maybe every other weekend. They have just bought a house in Tallia about 15 mins from us, its on acerage, beautiful but not sure if I could live there, too many spiders and snakes for me! I always keep my feet moving when Im up there! I have never seen a snake by the way, seen some big spiders though! Its a shame your not close to your family, shame you cant choose them eh? My Dads a funny buggar too. My brother is gay and we have had a nightmare with my dad, hes a typical male! We hope in time he will get to grips with it but its unlikely. My brother (ryan) hes 28, lives in London with his partner Adrian, been together 8 years. Miss them both madly they do come here on holiday alot as they commute to China alot with work, they buy and sell mens accessories to shops. Ryan is a really sweet person very gentle, you would never know he was gay though, hes not camp. My Dad should be so proud of him. Mum is very gay friendly, she is a pretty cool mum, she is 60 this year but looks younger than me! One of the nicest people I know, completely selfless. Hubby still painting the house, its a labour of love! Its a big house and the whole thing needs painting. We got quote of 10 grand! people know how to charge over here! I ll be glad when the house is totally finished its dragging on a bit now. We have tried just to do a bit when we can afford it but its taking so long. Hopefully by christmas we should be finished. Didint get any clothes looked like a fat heifer in everything. Nothing suits me, I could do with someone to make me over! Some people can get away with being a little chubby but I just cant. Will keep at the diet, well should I say will get back on it Monday, cant diet on a weekend! Enjoy your weekend, hope hubby goes OK with the test. Love Tam |
