With all this Olympic carry on I had completely forgotten about the house swapping. Suddenly I am facing the twin horrors of doing my tax return and cleaning the house.

Two weeks till the next swap. No pod camping for us this time! Our neighbours are going on holiday and have invited us to house sit for them . They dont want to boirrow our house for a week when they come back. They laughed when we suggested it. Quite a lot actually. I think they're sorry for us for having a child ungrateful enough to abandon us and waddle off to Australia when scarcely out of nappies. Okay she was 29, but still.

My other half seems to have gone off house swapping altogether. He's practicing golf swings in our back garden - difficult as it's about ten foot square and he has to hit foam balls off a big square of hardboard. Doesnt look very exciting but at least he's finished his tax return.

I've had enough. Since it's apparently summer at long last I'm going down to the beach. I'll dust the bannisters as I go out.
