It is cold and threatening to rain again, and I am sitting under the awning of my pod, checking emails etc. I would be doing this inside like any normal person but unfortunately the pod is so well insulated I can't get a wifi connection in there. Promise of a warm nights sleep though. The pod is really great - think wooden tent. We can stand up, have small out door area for table & chairs. We have a plug and a light inside and room for camp beds etc. carpet on the floor and, bliss, a heater. It is cosy and the Welsh marches look interesting. Have no idea why this area (Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Welshpool) is called the Welsh marches - distorted version of marshes maybe?

Alarming posters advertising an Annual Stone Skimming Championship had us on the lookout for dodgy looking banjo players but it seems to be all part of the local charm - together with lots of small towns dating back to fifteen plonk or so, four hundred year old local cheeses an optional extra.

Just a thought - where do you skim stones when you are not by the sea?

The ozzies? Well they are still back at our house making friends with the neighbours and exploring castles dating back to fifteen plonk or so. They claimed to be having a good time in spite of the rain and the house was still standing yesterday when we raided our garage for camping gear. More on the stone skimming championships later.
