House swapping getting closer

How difficult could it be to do a non-simultaneous house swap? We asked ourselves this way back before Christmas when we agreed to give up our house for two weeks in July and move in with my mum for the duration. This would give our swappers two weeks in the UK in Summer (August) and us two weeks in Australia in Summer. (October).
Well that was before mum decided to move to a sheltered flat. 'Never mind, it will take months to sell the house' we said. Nope, sold in a week. Then it rained and rained. and rained. We booked a week camping for one of our house swap weeks, booked the latest thing, a pod .... that's a posh shed to most people. Then it rained some more and the area we were planning to visit was flooded. What more could go wrong?
Well not much, except Nat West bank developed a death wish and cocked up our move. Is it possible to go camping with a partially sighted ninety year old? Hmmm ......
Well mum is finally installed in her flat and we're going to sleep on her living room floor on camp beds for a week and then take our chanced of doing Noah impersonations and try the posh camping.
So all we need to do now is to clean and manicure our house in about ten minutes.
All this to get free accomodation in Oz when we visit our daughter. Was it worth it?
I'll let you know in two weeks!![]()
