Brownfamily update

Hi all,
Well I thought that it was about time that I updated our blog!!
We have now spent our first Xmas and New Year in Oz and it has been brilliant. I was sort of dreading it cos it was our first and we would be missing family and friends etc, but we had a lovely time.
On Xmas day the kids got us up at 2.30am (no change there!) and had a great time opening their prezzies. We decided to go against the usual tradition of turkey and had a prawns/lobster on the BBQ, which was a success. After lunch we popped down the beach for a swim.
New Years Eve we went to a friends party and ended up cycling home about 3am, have to say that I don't think I was going in a very straight line though!
It has rained here for weeks now, but it is not cold, so it hasn't been too bad. We are in the process of having a pool built at the mo, so our garden looks like a bomb site and has taken 14 lorry loads of mud away, so just take note any of you that are thinking of doing it yourselves as we first thought (but luckily changed our minds and got a pool company to do it)!!
We have now been in Oz just over 7 months and are still loving every second of it.
Yes, we get homesick and miss family and friends, but you get through it.
I start my new job in a private school in a week and am quite looking forward to it. :)
To all those waiting and to those still deciding, it is all sooooooooooooo worth it!!
Happy New Year to everyone.
Heather
