Anyone else????
Definitely not IMO
Hi steph, when I applied for my partner visa 309/100 my dependent child was simply included in my visa so no extra charge for her. Also, if you have citizenship by decent, would this not be passed onto your children? you could consider visiting a 'down under live' expo There is one in Birmingham in September and one in Scotland in October. (Depending on where you live) you can check it out here http://www.downunderlive.co.uk/. Once there you can discuss your case with an agent free of charge. They have loads of information regarding other stuff, like banking, jobs and careers, housing, finance etc We have been to a couple of these shows and have found them worth while. Good luck
Don't worry mate they will ask u 1st year Apprentice stuff, like how do u light a cutting torch, show u pictures of brake press, guillotine and general house keeping don't stress it's pretty simple they just want the money.
Wow - well done!
Hi "cookie 1985" My oh is applying for 189 too... we are still in the early stages of the whole thing but we are using a Mara registered immigration company, although its expensive but they have save us from loads of stress (so far). How r u getting on?
Hi Steph sorry I can't help with answer to your questions however you have posted this as a blog and not on the forum so not everyone would see it. Can you try reposting on forum and you might get some help
Your story gave me goosebumps, well done
Tried everything not to go down this route, a visa agent checked a couple of years ago, we have been in touch with DIAC here and in OZ, apparently I didn`t remain in Australia long enough, (3 and 1/2 yrs) I have to admit everyone has been helpful to a degree but not come up with any other way so looks like I have to pay the $42000 plus all the other fees and it will probably go up in July Yuck!!
wow did you check the RRV situation for yourself then depending on how long you'd been out there yourself (significant ties etc?) before you decided you'd have no option but the parent visa? I have a teenage Aus Citizen but that isn't enough to get me there without the $$$$$$ visa :( seems a bit harsh but still !
Thanks for your reply, I emigrated to Australia in the 60s my daughter was born in Brisbane and therefore a citizen and she decided to go back to her roots 2yrs ago but even with the citizenship we have had to wait the statutory 2yrs before she can sponsor me. I think I will give it a go without the agent, I can think of much better ways to spend my money than on agent fees they are so expensive ( there is probably an agent reading this --- sorry Mr Agent) Enjoy your daughters visit, she seems to have brought some nice weather with her.
oh thanks- my daughter lives in Sydney but just decided to come home for a month, been here 2 days :) yes I downloaded it myself, got all the Birth/Marriage etc Certs certified & fingers crossed didn't miss anything (however organised you are there's always this little niggle isn't there that you just might be asked for something else!) then I know my meds will be referred so just have to wait for them to "fail" them & get extra reports if they request them ...has your daughter done the 2 years & got her PR then so you can crack on with it?
Hi,got your message so we must be doing something right! as you have, I have read the number 3 DIAC booklet from cover to cover many times, did you download the application form from the diac website? My daughter is in Brisbane but is coming back to the Uk next month for a holiday, the plan is to complete the form together. Thanks for the information, please let me know if your application is accepted, good luck with the sale of your house.!
Oh I only just applied a month ago- am still waiting for a formal acknowledgement from DIAC which I believe takes 2 mths or so-this will indicate they have accepted it as a valid application ie I've provided all they need re identity etc (apparently there were more 143s on offer than applied for last year so lord knows why it takes 15 months in total but that's my understanding)....there was nothing difficult about it (10 then). Read the Parent Migration Booklet from DIAC for 2 years like I did & you can't excuse yourself for errors! I sent it all off to my daughter & she added her sponsorship details & forwarded it to Perth. Just got a house to sell to fund it now!

I hope it is alright to ask a few questions eg on a scale of 1-10 how easy was it to get your visa? 10 being dead easy! , how many forms were there to complete ans did you have to do it online? I look forward to your reply. mc
