and the 8 month mark comes and goes..
like a lot of paper based applications from August, Sept and October, nothing is moving.
going to the High Commission next week to ask about a spouse visa as they can get granted really quickly.
However, I'm not sure if this is possible given that we don't yet live together (the only reason being a lack of visa, not a lack of time in the relationship) and this seems to be a pretty major requirement. We'll see.
Not even sure if you can re-use medicals and police checks as they kind of belong to the original application.
On the plus side, my company being acquired means I now have a Perth office, and I've already put in a request to see if I can transfer - I don't really care what job function particularly - so we'll see what that throws up. I need to get my CV done tonight, as the meeting is tomorrow. fingers crossed then. It wont help with the application (unless by having a job to go to you can browbeat the ASPC into looking at your application faster?) but it will help when I get there.
and now, for the first time in 4 weeks, I dont have to to be up at 4:30am the next day to drive somewhere for a 9am meeting, so I'm going to get some beer and sit out in the sunshine and try to unwind a bit.
