Well here we are in melbourne - finally. have been waiting for this day to arrive for months. arrived after a 22hr flight but must admit it was brilliant, it certainly didn't feel like 22hrs as we ate and slept most of the way. flew quantas and there was a load of empty seats so we got 3 seats each!! no screaming kids either. had a medical request whilst on board (it always happens on my flights) but luckily there was a GP on board so I let him take the responsibility.
arrived in melbourne to bright lights and the first thing we noticed was that the passport control was so organised. hired the car and found driving so easy thanks to the sat nav that came with it!! the city looked great and can't wait to see it more and in daylight. headed to Berwick which was about an hour from the airport. first thing we noticed is no speeding, they are hot on speeding and no one seems to do it. arrived at my friends 4 bed house in berwick and thought - massive rooms and so roomy. can't wait to explore more. sank a few bottles of wine to help me sleep!

Welcome to Melbourne. One of my cousins is there in Berwick - lives on an old farm that used to be known as Greaves or The Springs - right in the middle of suburbia. So happy exploring. I only have time to back read one of your posts - one from bromwich family was true. Check out local High? Schools - some have territory rules, but I think you can get around them by an application to review decision or similar. The local primary (age 6-12) school should have an active & good working relationship with parents. Mine had a system where twice a year we would do gardening duty - almost a whole Saturday, in lieu of paying a levy. As for rentals, its a free market. My cousin might know, but he's older. If you need help with rentals, sing out.
