Well here we are in melbourne - finally. have been waiting for this day to arrive for months. arrived after a 22hr flight but must admit it was brilliant, it certainly didn't feel like 22hrs as we ate and slept most of the way. flew quantas and there was a load of empty seats so we got 3 seats each!! no screaming kids either. had a medical request whilst on board (it always happens on my flights) but luckily there was a GP on board so I let him take the responsibility.

• Your credit rating in OZ?
• Getting a mortgage in OZ?

I get the ASPC update email and the paper based 175 applications have moved forward a massive ONE DAY

aaarrrgh!! when I started this process, visas were taking 6-7 months end to end. I'm at over 7 months and not even close to getting a case officer. sooooooooo frustrating.

I would nip back to Oz, get married and apply for a spouse visa, which I know can get granted really quickly, but apparently I'd have to redo my meds and police checks as they are tied to my original...
