moving to australia

hi everyone im thinking of moving to australia im an electrician i was wondering what sort of wages are they on in adelaide.also its seems that ive got to do an exam to get a skills card to work there,but it seems like going back to college to be able to work in australia.i was wondering if any electricians from the u.k who have gone through this would be able to give me more info on this i would be very grateful thanks paul

electrician (special class) help needed

My oh would love to have his question answered as we've tried ringing tafe institute a number of times and not been successful in finding the correct info. My oh is a project engineer (electrical/automation)in uk. He applied to the tra and they passed his work as an electrician (special class). The tra informed us that he needed to obtain an artc in order to work in australia. In order to get this and a licence you need the certificate 3 wiring regs course. We've been told from the...

Hi,

Well in typical style, my family managed to achieve the one reaction i hadn't considered - they said they didn't want to talk about it!!

My mum and dad arrived an hour early of course, so we sat in the lounge chatting until the small talk ran dry, at which point we sat in silence for a few seconds too long (i HATE silences) so i decided to break the ice by blurting out "so, we're moving to Australia..." Helloooo!

Everything's looking much more loverleeee with our whacky bits & pieces around now our shipment's arrived! Our house is now a home!

We had an inspection yesterday & the chappie was very impressed with our clenliness etc!

Today's another rainy day........brrrrr!

We have Medicare which is basic health cover & we have also taken out private cover. We've heard too many stories about people having to pay thousands for health...

Hiya Hiya!

Been up to my neck in 50 odd names & emails to sort the primary sch canteen rota & then been volunteering at the High Sch canteen all week to clinch the job of canteen assistant! Woooo! Go Me! But the hours are fab! 8am -3pm (1.30pm on Tues & thurs...............gives me enough time to whizz to the supermarket!) Looks like i have the job, starting 28th April, but as yet it's not official.........i have to do the interview routine even though the manager wants...
