Cost of Living In Sydney?

Can anyone tell me about the cost of living in Sydney. How does it compare to the UK.

Agent has requested a scanned copy of the employment contract, so done that. Employer has told us to look for accomodation in Aberfoyle Park, Happy Valley, Flagstaff Hill, Woodcroft (all about 20 mins from beach); then Hallett Cove, Sheidow Park (about 5 mins from beach).

Sponsorships can take 12 weeks found out
Feeling anxious, nervous, frightened and excited all at the same time ..........
