Less than 6 weeks to go until my partner and I carry out some backpacking around the world, leaving the UK for good and making our way over to Australia. I can only assume that some of you have also done this when you emigrated and so was wondering who did you take insurance with? A backpackers insurance company? Your bank? Post office? Cost us £150 each for the year - and my friend broke her back jumping from a waterfall a few months in, she called them up and they arranged her a 1st class ticket home and personal assistant to carry her bags (as she couldn't) with no problems.
