jc1710
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on a question I have. I am looking at applying for a WHV in Australia in the upcoming months however I received a criminal record was I was younger (10 or 11) for criminal damage. I was wondering if I still need to declare this as even though I was a minor it states on the application to mention any spent convictions? Also what are the chances that this may hinder or stop my chances of getting accepted for a WHV? Cheers for any help!
calNgary
I would declare it as if they find out later (one way or another) you could be in trouble. I don't think it will affect your visa if it was years ago . Cal x

travelfar
Thanks guys. Never knew that. It must of changed as I always thought it was 16 Nah the rule goes that children below the age of 10 cannot be considered for criminal charges and are basically exempt. Although ages 10-16 are treated slightly differently than older people.
jc1710
Yeah thats right travelfar. Do you know if that works in my favour when applying for a WHV? Meaning would I be more likely to get accepted as I was only a minor?
