Jack Lawton
Hi guys and girls, Hoping to get to know some people and get some advice. Iv just had an email saying my working holiday visa has been granted and I couldn't be happier but also a tad scared knowing ill be the other side of the world on my own soon. Now I just need to figure out where and when to go I already know I'd like to be able to apply for 2nd year visa so need to get some farm/fruit picking work in. Can anybody give some input if you've been or are in the same situation as me. Cheers Jack
misskayleigh
Hi Jack, It's a great feeling isn't it! My WHV was granted in May and I'm(finally) flying out on the 1st Feb. When are you planning on going?

Jack Lawton
What are people's thoughts on working hostels/hostels and shared accommodation?
MARYROSE02
I've no idea if YHA is better than private hostels. I know that YHA is usually limited to 14 nights, though this could be extended. I was talking to a girl not long ago who is staying in a long-stay hostel in Glebe. I know that some backpackers stay in units - flats - which have more beds than is possibly legal, but if 4 or 5 are sharing a two-bedroom flat here in Surry Hills with a rent of ?say? $700 per week, then it's considerably more affordable. I guess you have to get on with your room mates. Another young backpacker told me that he hated sharing a room with his two mates because they both snore. https://www.yha.com.au/ http://www.hostelworld.com/hostels/Australia
