tingtongman
since you have a job your costs will be very small to start with. Now it depends how long you will be doing this job and what your plans are after, if your plan after is to travel for 3-6 months, you will need about $1-2k a month for that. If your plan is to find another paying job, $2-3k should tie you over. the visa states you need to show at least $5k upon entry, but this is hardly ever enforced. EMMA123
I plan to do it for 6 months and then find another job, Thanks for the advice , if you don't mind me asking how much did you take and what and where are you now? x
tingtongman
I took well over $10k, and im currently in the Sun shine coast, doing a bit of ginger picking, but that is going to finish quite soon. Strawberries are meant to start, I may give that a go, but no rush for me, im a bit lazy

Guest51810
Wow so you managed to organise a au pair job before even arriving? Was it difficult?
