berto
Hi guys, we are at the moment working in the mornington peninsula near Melbourne with hope of traveling the east coast from around jan/feb in a van, has anyone done it? Got any advice on where to go, what to do, best places to stay overnight and a rough cost? Cheers Chrissy and Lauren.
Bobj
East coast in the Wet?? Hot, humid and squillions of mossies from about Gladstone north and a fair amount of rain, the odd threat of a cyclone...May through to Sept is better. Cheers, Bobj. Ilona Reynolds
Don't know if you've got a van yet but my friend here just showed me these http://www.wickedcampers.com.au I want the Alice Cooper one!
berto
wicked had a massive sale on, they were selling used campers for around 4k, with 3 month warranty, the girls thought about buying one then selling it on but unfortunately they sold out, they're now thinking of getting the grey hound bus ( think that's what it's called) and stay in hostels but they change their minds daily so who knows what they'll end up doing. Guest The Pom Queen
Agree with BobJ we both live up at the top so know what we are talking about. If you are not going any further than Brisbane you would be fine. I have just created another thread on this as I've heard of a few heading North http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/backpacking-whv/198820-backpackers-what-you-should-know.html It may be an idea to head to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road and on to Perth.
