Didn't you read Tim's post? When I wrote my post, Tim's reply came in just before mine was posted That's why I didn't read it before posting my response to earlier replies. I apologise for that mistake Elle.

Don't know why you were offended, surely you wouldn't want to inadvertently make someone sick I wasn't annoyed, just a bit disappointed and surprised having not experienced this before. I probably should have read up on the procedure and situation first and checked out the procedure instead of just assuming I could go along and do a good deed to try and give s drop or two of blood. I shoul have checked up first on the Internet or called Queensland health. I guess I' can be a bit of an idiot on times. Apologies again.

Thank God, No harm appears to have been done. As you point out I would not want to "make anyone sick" and thankfully the Red Cross gentleman there may have saved someone, because who knows, maybe I have a prroblem I'm unaware of.

I guess I'll just have to hold on until next July and give some blood to a blood bank in the UK, where past visits have proven acceptable, not that I'm suggesting the blood donation service in the UK is up to the standard of the ehhh, Australian service .
All the best
